Code of Conduct

As an individual affiliated with Volleyball Quebec, Dynamique Volleyball Club fully adheres to and abides by Volleyball Quebec's policies and procedures: politique, aux règles et procédures en matière de protection de l'intégrité de Volleyball Québec.

This policy was established with the goal of creating a safe, respectful, and ethical environment for all members involved in our activities at a competitive and recreational level.

Coach

1. Professionalism

  • Maintain a professional attitude in all interactions with players, parents, officials, and colleagues. Demonstrate integrity, fairness, and respect.

  • Dress appropriately according to the club's dress code during practices, games, and events, representing the team with professionalism.

2. Respect and Sportsmanship

  • Treat all players with respect and acknowledge their individual contributions. Promote sportsmanship and model respectful behavior both on and off the court.

  • Show respect towards opposing teams, coaches, and referees. Conduct yourself with dignity, regardless of the match outcome.

  • Accept and support referees' decisions. Address any concerns about officiating through the appropriate channels and avoid confrontational behavior.

3. Communication

  • Communicate clearly and effectively with players, parents, and other coaching staff regarding expectations, schedules, and any issues that may arise.

  • Provide constructive and positive feedback to players. Address conflicts or concerns with players and parents respectfully and professionally.

4. Player Development

  • Focus on developing players' skills and their understanding of the game. Create opportunities for all players to participate and progress.

  • Prioritize the physical and emotional well-being of players. Be attentive to their needs and provide support for their overall development.

5. Inclusion and Equality

  • Ensure all players have equal opportunities to participate and progress. Avoid favoritism and ensure all players feel valued and included.

  • Foster an inclusive environment free from discrimination, harassment, or bullying. Promote respect for diversity and individual differences.

6. Safety and Compliance

  • Adhere to all safety protocols and ensure practices and games are conducted safely. Be prepared to administer first aid if necessary.

  • Comply with all relevant rules, regulations, and policies set by the club, league, and governing bodies. Stay informed of updates or changes.

7. Ethics and Integrity

  • Act with honesty and integrity in all aspects of coaching. Avoid any actions that could be perceived as unethical or deceptive.

  • Declare any potential conflicts of interest and avoid situations where personal interests could influence your coaching responsibilities.

8. Team Management

  • Plan and conduct practices and games in an organized and effective manner. Ensure all team activities are structured and purposeful.

  • Make decisions that are in the best interest of the team and players. Be fair and transparent in your decision-making processes.

9. Parent and Community Relations

  • Interact with parents and community members respectfully and professionally. Keep them informed about team activities and developments.

  • Encourage parental involvement and support. Respond to concerns or issues raised by parents in a timely and respectful manner.

10. Role Model

  • Serve as a positive role model for players in terms of behavior, attitude, and work ethic. Demonstrate commitment, dedication, and respect for the game and those involved.

  • Maintain a positive and motivating attitude, fostering a supportive and encouraging environment for players.

Players

1. Respect and Sportsmanship

  • Treat teammates, coaches, opponents, and referees with respect at all times. Show appreciation for the efforts of others, regardless of the outcome.

  • Demonstrate good sportsmanship by being gracious in both victory and defeat. Avoid arguing with referees, coaches, or opponents.

2. Commitment and Attendance

  • Arrive on time for practices, games, and team meetings. Notify the coach in advance if you cannot attend for a valid reason.

  • Fully participate in all practices and games, giving your best effort and staying focused throughout.

3. Teamwork and Cooperation

  • Work collaboratively with teammates, supporting each other on and off the court. Encourage and uplift one another to build a cohesive team.

  • Communicate openly and respectfully with teammates and coaches. Address conflicts or concerns constructively.

4. Responsibility and Accountability

  • Take responsibility for your actions and decisions. Acknowledge mistakes and learn from them to improve performance.

  • Come prepared to practices and games with the necessary equipment and a positive attitude. Complete tasks and assignments given by the coach.

5. Respect for Rules and Regulations

  • Follow all team rules, league regulations, and guidelines set by the coach or club. Understand and respect the rules of the game.

  • Adhere to safety protocols and guidelines to ensure your own well-being and that of your teammates. Report any injuries or safety concerns promptly.

6. Behavior and Conduct

  • Maintain appropriate behavior on and off the court. Avoid engaging in any form of harassment, bullying, or disruptive conduct.

  • Compete honestly and with integrity. Avoid any actions considered cheating or unsportsmanlike.

7. Respect for Equipment and Facilities

  • Take care of team equipment and facilities. Report any damage or issues to the coach or relevant authorities.

  • Keep personal and team spaces clean and organized. Respect shared spaces and leave them in good condition.

8. Focus and Attitude

  • Maintain a positive and respectful attitude towards coaches, teammates, and opponents. Approach practices and games with enthusiasm and dedication.

  • Stay focused during practices and games. Minimize distractions and prioritize the needs of the team over personal interests.

9. Personal Development

  • Strive to continuously improve your skills and knowledge of the game. Seek feedback and use it to enhance your performance.

  • Take care of your physical and mental health. Ensure you are well-rested, hydrated, and prepared for physical activity.

10. Parent and Community Engagement

  • Represent the team and club positively in all interactions with the community. Show respect for the support and involvement of parents and other community members.

Parents

1. Support and Encouragement

  • Offer encouragement and support to your child and their teammates. Celebrate their efforts and accomplishments, regardless of the outcome.

  • Respect your child's experience and decisions regarding their participation in the sport. Encourage them to enjoy the game and focus on their personal development.

2. Communication

  • Address any concerns or questions about your child's participation or progress directly with the coach in a respectful and constructive manner. Avoid confrontations in public or during games.

3. Respect for Coaches and Officials

  • Show respect for the decisions and authority of coaches and referees. Support the coach's decisions and avoid criticizing officials or coaching staff in front of your child or other spectators.

  • Trust that coaches and officials are working to ensure a fair and enjoyable experience for all players. Address any concerns through appropriate channels.

4. Respect for Club Policies

  • Adhere to all policies and procedures established by the club. Familiarize yourself with the club's rules and expectations regarding behavior, participation, and communication.

  • Support the club's mission and values. Promote a positive image of the club within the community and among other families.

5. Conflict Resolution

  • Address any conflicts or concerns calmly and respectfully. Use appropriate channels to resolve issues and seek constructive solutions.

  • Work collaboratively with coaches, other parents, and team members to resolve any issues that arise. Focus on finding solutions that benefit the team and your child.
